Barbara Harper is a leading voice for childbirth and maternity care reform, an author, educator, midwife and internationally recognized expert on the use of warm water immersion for labour and birth.

This fun and informative workshop will deepen knowledge of the use of warm water immersion for labor or as a gentle birth option, to inform and integrate into professional practice or for personal interest. For parents, newly expecting or experienced, this workshop will help you gain practical and evidence based information about gentle birth choices and how labouring or birthing in water can lead to a powerful, confident and beautiful birth experience.

DONA Birth Doula Workshop 2021

When the founders created DONA in 1992, they professionalized the role of the doula. Since then, the organization has certified more than 12,000 DONA International doulas in more than 50 countries.
The Mission of DONA International is to promote high quality birth and postpartum support by setting the standard for the doula profession through evidence-based training and certification for doulas of diverse backgrounds.

Description:
Students enrolled in the program will be eligible candidates to become certified once they attend the training workshop and complete the activities outlined in the Certification Packet (details will be available upon filling the DONA registration form).
The Birth doula workshop includes hands-on examples of how to provide continuous effective physical and emotional support to women and her partner during labor and birth based on the most current evidence in a way that is appropriate and engaging to millennial families. The virtual meetings are co-hosted by Elena & Shereen to facilitate and support with the requirements and pre-requisites that can be initiated in preparation for the in-person Birth doula workshop.
The training workshop is for anyone interested in assisting women and their families to have a satisfying birth experience. It uses texts and supplementary literature, videos, slides, small group activities, hands-on practice and role-play to develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills as a doula.
What is required is a willingness to participate, learn, and have fun in a unique experience with other like-minded women!
Note: If the participant does not have prior training/certification in Breastfeeding , Doula support or Childbirth education, a one-day attendance to the 'Intro to childbirth & breastfeeding' workshop is required and will be facilitated on March 24th, (at an additional cost), in order to fulfill the requirement for certification.

Description: Seminar includes hands-on examples of how to design and deliver childbirth education based on the most current evidence in a way that is appropriate, fun and engaging to millennial families.
Anyone interested in becoming a Lamaze Certified ChildbirthEducator, is welcome to join in this interactive learning experience. We will share birth stories, participate in group activities and get a hands-on experience of teaching Lamaze to peers. We will explore the latest evidence-based information on birth and newborns in an exciting and creative way.
No pre-requisite is required, What is required is a willingness to participate, learn, and have fun in a unique experience with other like-minded people!
The Anahuac / Lamaze Program has almost 25 years of experience training competent childbirth educators around the world. The program travels to meet candidates’ requirements. We (Lamaze International) have offered the Seminar in several countries (i.e. USA, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Chile, Spain, Slovenia, etc).
